Red Ribbon Week: Monday October 24th – Friday October 28th UPDATED


Red Ribbon Week is a way for people and communities
 to take a visible stand against drugs. 
This year's theme, "Yolo. Be Drug Free.™"
was created by two 6th graders in Claysburg, PA.

SUPPORT RED RIBBON WEEK BY:

MONDAY: "Team up against drugs" 
Wear your favorite sports team shirt or jersey – sign pledge put up in hallway

TUESDAY: “Be crazy about your health” 
Crazy Hair/Crazy Hat/Crazy Socks Day  - pass out and wear your stickers

WEDNESDAY: "Have the Power to Say No to Drugs" 
SuperHero Shirts Only – No Costumes

THURSDAY: "Your Choices are the Key to Your Dreams"  
Pajama Day – No slippers or stuffed animals

FRIDAY: "Proud to be Drug Free" 
Wear your school shirt, school colors or dress to impress

Requests for BoxTops and Headphones

The First Grade Team is requesting help with the following:

1.  BOXTOPS - please collect your boxtops and send them to school with your child!

2.  HEADPHONES - we need about 30 pairs of additional headphones.  If you are able to, please consider donating some and we would sincerely appreciate it.  They have them at the dollar store.

Reminders

REMINDERS (9/20/16):

(1)  Please send poetry notebooks back to school every Monday, because we put in new poems on Mondays. 

(2)  Wednesday folders go home on Wednesday - please review the paperwork and send the folder back on  Thursday.

(3)  Student Rights and Regulations handbooks have gone home already.  The first page needs to come back signed by Friday, September 23.

(4)  On Friday, September 23, book orders are due.  Each class room is trying to order $300 worth of books. Please order books before Friday!

(5)  Pleas sign up for parent teacher conferences if you have not already done so (forms will go out to those who have not signed up).

(6)  Homework for math as well as reading logs will go home starting in October. 

(7) Make sure to read with or to your child every night for 20 minutes.
